Mat Kerekes has branched out from being the lead singer of grungy alternative rock band Citizen in order to present a softer, more mellow side of his musical range as solo singer-songwriter. He has been releasing solo music online since 2011 but kicked of his solo tour earlier this year in February, playing Mahall’s in Cleveland, Ohio.

Hailing from the Bedford Township area of Michigan, he lists Third Eye Blind as among his biggest musical influences and has been playing music since he was 14 years old when he was the drummer of The Sound of Glory.
In 2016, he wrote and performed virtually everything on his first full solo studio album, “Luna & The Wild Blue Everything” (Producer Will Yip, of the new Elektra Music Group, sub-label Black Cement Records, handled some percussion.)
He recently shared new singles “Ruby” and “Diamonds”, which both boast huge anthemic choruses and infectious melodies. Check out “Ruby” below.
